Yes, Merry, can't wait to get cert. (In about 2 months I suppose!!). Yes, he could be a widower. I just love doing this. I sometimes wonder what I will do when I have gone as far as I can...I shall be lost!!! Is Heather on any other threads...expect she is busy looking after son. Thanks for your expertise and help. Typical, I think I had looked up until 1852....just didn't expect a marriage 2/3 years after 1st born.

Merry

Merry Report 24 Mar 2006 12:29

If you get the marriage cert you may find Wm senr is a widower!! Merry (female)

So possibly a child born out of wedlock....my first one...how exciting. Unless William junior is son of another man!!

Am back....so that is W & S's wedding is it? Fantastic where did you find that Glen? Thank you so much. Must admit I thought Merry was a bloke at first, but soon realised my mistake!!! Chris (who could be a bloke but isn't!)

Nudge for Chrispy

Merry

Merry Report 24 Mar 2006 10:38

So, I wonder if William Purcell junr is the child William P senr and/or Sarah Forward, or another wife? Merry

Merry

Merry Report 24 Mar 2006 10:36

Oh, yo-ho-ho!!!!! Sorry Glen! Merry (who has also been called male on this site!) PS Where is Chrispy??

Glen

Glen Report 24 Mar 2006 10:32

You're right Merry; I am female - sorry to mislead. I have used this name for so long that I forget people will think I'm male. Needless to say it's an abbreviation for something quite horrendous which I never own to.

Merry

Merry Report 24 Mar 2006 10:18

LOL Glen!!!! Typical of a man......No fanfare.....just a quiet little post with the right answer!!! I shall larff my head off when you say you are female! (I always get these things wrong......) Merry

Heather, sorry to hear about son. I have 20 year old and still worry. Sounds bit nasty, but hope he will be ok soon. Did he get attacked at weekend then? Blimey, don't they worry you. Chin up Chris

OOOhh Heather - sorry to hear about your son. My son also had pleurisy a few months back - It's quite nasty but once the antibiotics kick in he should start to feel a lot better. Make sure you catch up on your sleep tonight. Dea Xxx

Hi there, sorry Ive been at hospital all day - son was very ill in night, doc sent him straight to hospital - after x rays etc. said he has pleurisy - the kicking he got over the weekend probably didnt help. Anyway, seems like you lot have tried hard.

Dea and Merry Thanks for your sleuthing. You can see the problem I'm having. Have searched through all the years on the bmd from 1837 to1852 for W & S's marriage. Oh well.... regards Chris

Dea Report 23 Mar 2006 12:56

I agree with you Merry, I tried to find them too - then I looked at ALL the Williams in all of the census - anywhere - I don't believe he has even been mistranscribed!! Dea x

Merry

Merry Report 23 Mar 2006 12:45

I think they have been beamed up!! I tried looking for Sarah (Purcell or Forward) and for William junr, but no luck. I did concentrate on people living in the Shoreditch area (after I'd exhausted any idea that they might be recorded with the CORRECT surname!)......but no luck Merry
