hi jess looks like they wernt married it definitly looks like woods as the two os are joined at the top and we did find ellen rodds still single in 1881 and 1901 angie xx

edwin married lucy hardman 1880 on edwins marriage cert it said his father was edwin rodds but birth cert says frederick raymond woods all seem to be bakers or grocers angie xx

So Lucy Hardman marriage was a total red herring, sorry still trying to sort out fact from assumptions we made
