i am trying to find charles barnett born about 1805 on 1861 census states born 'board of appollo frigate' i do not understand this can anyone point me where i should go to find it thanks diana |

Have you tried the overseas section of 1837 online I think they might have indexes of people born at sea Lou |

HMS Apollo was in the Napolionic wars, and it was not unusuel for women to be onboard ether as wives hidden below decks or Whores that the Navy turnd a blind eye to. It was also not unknown for babys to be born abored. So your Relle could have easly been born on ship. |
