Can anyone tell me if it is possible to obtain naval records for someone who died at sea in the First World War? I have his service number from the Commonwealth War Graves site but am unsure where to write, or if I am allowed to ask for them? Thanks Sophie |

The records for Navy up to 1922 are at TNA: www(.)nationalarchives(.)gov.uk You can download Navy leaflet. You will need to either go to TNA and search records for yourself or employ a researcher at £20 an hour to do the work for you. Janet |
