if a women remarries..?

if im looking for a rellie who remarried would it be under her original maiden name or her first married name surname??

Under her first married surname I think. This has happened in my searches twice. I didn't realize she'dbeen married before (to his brother) so had the same maried name twice, in one instance. Although I suppose years ago there was nothing stopping you from changing back to you single name. Linda

It would normally be in her first married name but not always. My cousin married using her maiden name when she remarried.

I've seen both options - and in one case 'Elisa Bloggs, previously Smith, formerly Brown'

I have a divorcee who remarried in the forties and she is listed under both names Louise Cera or Tocqueville
