Thank you everyone I think I will have to wait for my next holiday to sort these two rellies out I will obviously will have to go to the records offices holding the documents for the areas. I'll keep everyone postd if and when I move forward - it may help others in the same boat. Alice |

Marjorie A similar entry on the same page says 'but it was born.. in the parish of X' which what I suspect the vicar would have written, had he not reached the end of the page and then probably sharpened his pen, or a Person from Porlock called. This was in the 1720s and the vicar was anxious to justify his entries. There was one baby baptised although born a month before, after the vicar had badgered and hectored the mother into having the ceremony conducted. |
