	I have been told my ggrandfather was in India, can only find him on the 1881 census but have a marriage certificate in 1899 that says he was a shoe finisher, how can I check if he was in India ? or does anyone have a suggestion that could help find him, am looking for Albert Victoe Ward 5-01-1872 Elaine

	You might find something useful on http://www.nationalarchivist.com/ (remove ) It's part free, part pay-per-view. Images seem to be DejaVu - like 1837Online. Christine
