Can anyone help - I have twins on 1901 census as 18 yrs old - have looked on ancestry and freebmd but cant match them up. Names of Ernest & Henry Miles - parents listed on census - Richard and Rosetta, they were residing queenswood lodge streatham (he was the gardner). Found parents marriage in free bmd wandsworth 1882. I have all of them listed on 1891 census as well, but can't find births of ernest or henry listed around the time/area. any ideas? judy

Have you tried the GRO lists at libraries/CROs/1837? Free BMD isn't complete yet. Have a look at the graphs on their site. 1883 looks complete, but 1882 is only about 5% complete yet.

John's right. Hardly any births have been transcribed for 1882. Have you looked for them under the mother's maiden name? They might have been born before the marriage. Crista

Thanks John and Crista for your advice - had a bad day and the brain just wasn't working! (probably because I was at work while looking the relies up, and just couldn't think straight) judy
