Anyone know when England, Wales and Scotland became known as Britain? |

Wasn't it after the union that Elizabeth I and Mary I inadvertedly made??? Or am I getting confused? That's when James VI of Scotland became James I of Great Britain. Or has it always been known as Britain?? Britainnia??? Romano-British? |

Scotland and England, instead of being seperate kingdoms, became Great Britain following the Act of Union in 1707. Christine |

Wales has been part of Britain the longest, since the 1200s I think but don't quote me. The whole of Ireland was added in 1800 and the Republic of Ireland broke away in 1922. |
