Have you tried Durham Assizes records? Some are subject to the hundred year rule, but you could try www(.)catalogue(.)national archives(.)com and see if that comes up with anything. |

Hi and thanks david. Tried looking from there but cannot find any link to Durham Gaol or any listings for records of who was "staying" there. Its so annoying, I would like to know if the couple were convicted together or if they were seperate incidents. Annoying but getting obssessed with this family history!! I will keep trying tho. |

hi everyone Anybody know if theres a way of tracing people who were in Durham Gaol in 1912? It seems I have 2 ancesters, married at the time. who were in Durham gaol in 1912, leaving a 6 year old daughter who was then put into a care home. Anybody got any suggestions how to check this out? I'm very curious as to what the crime would be as to leave the daughter parent-less. |
