Was it normal to list the time of birth on birth certificates? I have a birth certificate from 1852 where the time of birth has been written with the date. David |

I think that times of birth were added if the baby was one of twins. Someone else may know different. Rose |

Some particular registrars always added the time on for all their births multiple or not, they were just more precise than others! Kim |

Hi David I had the time of birth on a certificate in 1854 of my Great Grandad and wondered if he was a twin so I phoned the registrar and asked if he could possibly be a twin and they very kindly looked in the book and they all had the time of birth next to them. Maggie |
