thanks that all helps it does not say deceased on the marriage cert (1910) and it could xplain why i have never found him on the 1901 census i just assumed beceause he was on the cert he was alive. i now think his wife remarried prior to 1901.

Hi Brenda Yes, he would be named usually, sometimes it says dec. sometimes it doesn't. Heather

on my grandmothers marriage certificate it shows the name of her father however i seem to think he had died before she got married. would he still be named even if he was deceased?
