i have found a rellie on the moray roll of honour as he was in the royal garrison artillery he joined in elgin,scotland in 1915 served in france. so i take it because he is on the moray roll of honour he died in the war but i cant find him on cwgc any ideas from a fresh pair of eyes, thanks isabel oh his name is james mccutcheon no 137442 |

Not necessarily!! A lot of communities listed those who served, whether they paid the Supreme Sacrifice or not. In Limavady, where I live, there were oak panels made after WW1 listing all those who served from the area. Those who did not return were listed in a different colour. Also, if they enlisted under age, they may have used a false name. So although they may be listed as killed in action in the local area, they are possibly not listed under their correct name on CWGC. thanks for that paul that could well have happened to him as i cannot find him though i cant find a death cert for him in scotland either but thanks for the reply it was very good of you, isabel |
