I am trying to find my Green line prior to 1881 with not much success. I am looking at the oldest child I am hoping to have found his birth ref. on 1881 his birthplace is Dalston, would this be registered under Shoreditch. Thanks Diane |

I think it will be. If not it's Hackney. |

Diane, Dalston comes under the London Borough of Hackney - as does Shoreditch. Hackney do not provide Certificates though - they will redirect you to the GRO. Kathy |

Thanks Kathy, The 1871 was located for me tonight giving me a few more children so I have a bit more info to go on. I am not 100% sure the one I found was right. I have a couple of other more distinct names to play with! |

Births in Dalston are in the GRO indexes as Hackney. |
