Births in Dalston are in the GRO indexes as Hackney.

Thanks Kathy, The 1871 was located for me tonight giving me a few more children so I have a bit more info to go on. I am not 100% sure the one I found was right. I have a couple of other more distinct names to play with!

Diane, Dalston comes under the London Borough of Hackney - as does Shoreditch. Hackney do not provide Certificates though - they will redirect you to the GRO. Kathy

I am trying to find my Green line prior to 1881 with not much success. I am looking at the oldest child I am hoping to have found his birth ref. on 1881 his birthplace is Dalston, would this be registered under Shoreditch. Thanks Diane
