Hi Angela, I wish I had bought some of those books when I was there. I think we are researching the same part of the East End - i.e., Stepney (St Dunstans Church), and Bromley by Bow. Perhaps I could order some direct from Bancroft Library. Which of the book titles are most appropriate to the areas we are researching? Kathy

Where do I start? I had a wonderful afternoon up there....... It is a very old building but the staff were so very helpful and couldn't do enough for me. They hold everything there, I came home with lots of lists of excatley what they hold, so if anyone has any queries please feel free to e-mail me directly. Best of all though I purchased about 5 books on the East End then and now,( WOW what a difference.......) and none of them were over £4-00. I would say well worth a visit............... Angie.

Angela, What part of Tower Hamlets are you researching? I went to Bancroft Library last year and have a list of all their holdings. See also previous thread about What Records Office for St George in the East. Regards, Kathy
