Can any computer whizz kid tell me if census CDs can be copied to the hard drive to give quicker access?

I've just given it a try - yes, it was possible with mine (Stepping Stones). You don't need all the files and have to rename one.

Thanks Geoff, I've got Stepping Stones. Did you just set up a directory and copy the CDs to it? Which file did you have to re-name and why? And is it quicker access? It certainly would save having to hunt out and insert the CDs.

I have mailed you. Yes, it saves time.

Haven't seen the e-mail yet but have copied you reply over from "Your Contacts". The Stepping Stones census I have got doesn't have a Master CD, but I am sure that I can work that through from your very detailed instructions. Thanks again.

Sorry, I got a disconnection just as I sent it - I assumed that as it was in "My contacts" it had sent OK.

Didn't see it last night or this morning (I'm at work now) but it could have got mixed up with all the spam my son's getting and been deleted in error !
