The only other comment I was going to make is that Inkberrow is a village in Worcestershire not Warwickshire as the 1881 census seems to suggest. So, the birth place of Worcestershire for Sarah Smith on the 1891 census would seem to make more sense.

Hi George, After a bit of struggle, I've found your Fred Martin. Again, a transcription error made things difficult and he's listed in the index as Frederick MARLIN. Here are the details: Sarah SMITH, Head, Widow, 82, b. Worcestershire Frederick MARTIN, Grand Son, Single 17, Grocers assistant, b. Warwickshire B'ham. Living at 103 Cheapside, Aston, Birmingham Did you know beforehand that Sarah Smith was his grandmother, then?

This is the info I have: 1881: Richard SMITH Head M Male 70 Bidford, Warwick, England Market Gardener Sarah SMITH Wife M Female 70 Inkberrow, Warwick, England William ROUSE Serv U Male 30 Alder Marson, Warwick, England Genr Serv (Dom)((G)) Fred MARTIN Boarder Male 8 Birmingham, Warwick, England Scholar -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Source Information: Dwelling 10 Shirley Heath Census Place Solihull, Warwick, England He married Maria Ryley in Kings Norton. On the marriage cert his father was recorded as Thomas Martin, Market Gardener. Any assistance gratefully received George
