Have you tried 1837 online for GRO index? As you know the year of death it should not be too difficult to find if it's there. Also, I have found the family on 1891 census. Let me know if you want details. |

Peter, It's not clear what your question is? Are you looking for birth records? I assume so as you have the marriage and death certificates for Johannah. You should ask if someone can look them up in the 1871 census. Crista |

If you have the marriage certificate it should give their ages and their father's names. From the ages you can work our when they were born and then try searching for them around that time. Or try searching the Censuses for the father, or any children born before 1901. Elaine |

25 in 1888, around 18 in 1881, not at home, so probably in service or similar. Servants and lodgers are the hardest to find and identify, because their householders didn't know their ages and birthplaces and couldn't spell their names (which also means, when you find them, the info's not reliable). But in this case there's a "Johanna Hesterman" in the 1881 census who looks good, servant to Edward Humphreys at 8 Cawley Road Somewhere-in-London |
