25 in 1888, around 18 in 1881, not at home, so probably in service or similar. Servants and lodgers are the hardest to find and identify, because their householders didn't know their ages and birthplaces and couldn't spell their names (which also means, when you find them, the info's not reliable). But in this case there's a "Johanna Hesterman" in the 1881 census who looks good, servant to Edward Humphreys at 8 Cawley Road Somewhere-in-London

If you have the marriage certificate it should give their ages and their father's names. From the ages you can work our when they were born and then try searching for them around that time. Or try searching the Censuses for the father, or any children born before 1901. Elaine

Peter, It's not clear what your question is? Are you looking for birth records? I assume so as you have the marriage and death certificates for Johannah. You should ask if someone can look them up in the 1871 census. Crista

Have you tried 1837 online for GRO index? As you know the year of death it should not be too difficult to find if it's there. Also, I have found the family on 1891 census. Let me know if you want details.

Death cert Johannah W Heistermann died 1896.st georges in the east.Married to Johann Bonner.Licensed victualler.Marriage cert.1888.Poplar.he then was a tailor.Cant find either of them anywhere.Found Heistermann family on 1881.Censors rest of his children born in poplar.Sorry married name on cert was bonner.But dont know where to look now.Any help would be great.Thanks Mary.Her age when married was 25 years.His 24.on marriage cert.
