I posted a message on this board a couple of weeks ago(cant find it now) asking for advice about looking at old negatives without having to get them all developed.Someone suggested I buy a scanner(cant remember who).Bought one today and Im delighted with results, have spent hours looking at them, some Ive never seen before others I can recall but the origanal has disapeared,so far Ive only found 70s negs hoping to find earlier ones. Thanks very much to whoever answered my plea Kathleen |

I print my b&w negatives using an Epson Perfection 1240U scanner using the optional film adapter. Well, only print some of them, they all go onto CD archive storage. Some of my negatives are half-plate and date from before 1920. The positives have been lost for years and processing using the pc means this is the first time they have been seen for decades. These I just drop straight onto the scanner and it works ok. I process all sizes of negatives, the majority being my own b&w and colour 35mm negative film. Using a photo programme such MGI Photosuite4, the pictures can be adjusted and enhanced etc. |
