anyone live in the oldham area

hi linda
(just noticed your first name) re thorn st.checked 1909 map for you.thorn st was off ashton rd.alongside the primrose view hotel(27 ashton rd).i have lots of history and photos of oldham in 18 and early 1900s.

hi carter
i live in shaw nr oldham. you mention on your grandparents marriage cert,st pats church,which is roman catholic.the chances are that thorn st was in the st marys area of oldham. st marys was under a vast clearence area in early 60s.some of the original streets still remain,but on checking the greater manchester street guide, there is no thorn st in oldham.st pats does still exist on union st west. i have a 1909 map of oldham. if it is of use to you i can check for thorn st.

Looking on Google Maps there is a Thorn Road in Oldham, which I suppose might have been called Thorn Street at one time.

hi i wonder if there is anyone who lives in the oldham area who could tell me if some properties are still standing. i am looking for 3 and 11 thorn street it is the address given on my grandparents marriage certin 1896 also the church is our lady and st patricks i have tried the photo exchange site but there is no one in the oldham area
