I think that you have probably turned the tables on her and she must be so frustrated because she can't get at you. Good on you - sounds like you are winning the battle.

No she can't hurt you anymore - at least not unless you let her. As long as she doesn't break the kettle - you have to be able to have a cuppa:))

Sharron Report 7 Feb 2015 20:06

The housing association has been carrying out a lot of work in our house over the last couple of weeks which has meant we have needed to camp in the front room all day, me knitting and cuddling the cat and OH watching the TV with our mates doing the same when they visited.

We have shared this space with freezers, tumble dryer, boxes of God knows what, the cat's food and his dirt box.

Yesterday the floor layer looked in to say he has finished and the stove was in place and working again. In conversation I mentioned that I couldn't wait to cook a meal again and that I thought I might make a cake. I also mentioned that it felt very familiar to be living round heaps of junk as it had always been that way when my mother was alive.

She was listening!

Not very long after he had left, I was in the kitchen with a big knife and butternut squash making some soup.

OH was out working when I had finished pushing it through the sieve so I heated up the pan and took a bowl for myself.

As I reached up to switch off the light in the cooker hood it came crashing down through the ceramic hob.

You mean the cooker hood came down?
Could the fitters moving it have caused it to loosen?

Ever the sceptic, Maggie xx

ps. When my mum saw her dad's ghost she just told him to go away and he did.

If I were you, just as a belt 'n' braces action, I would tell your mum to eff off. Explain in loud tones that he place has now been totally changed - it's all yours!!!
Oh - and explain in words of one syllable that anything you say is ABOUT her, not TO her xxxx

Just tell her to "go away".. that is what i have done for years and now she seldom haunts me..

If something bad happens and i think it is her, i just say.. do your worst, i am here and i can handle it..

Seems to work :-D
