Jude are you not going with him? We could of met up if you were.

Linda glad you had a good day.

Ann you mention about complaining, there was a letter in our local paper on Thursday from a woman who lives near RAF Shawbury, (Where Wills and Harry have been) complaining about the Red Arrows flying over. They landed at Shawbury in preparation for the Cosford airshow. She asked that next time it happens they should inform people that they are going to fly over. I think the woman must be loopy because there had been adverts in the papers, on local radio and tv, all advertising the show.
My hubby said that if she didn't like it why did she move under the flight path of a RAF station in the 1st place.

Oh how wonderful!

I used to get as close as possible to it when husband was posted to RAF Valley, magnificent to see on take off.

I'm hoping to get to Lowestoft and/or Clacton.
And Maybe Duxford if it's confirmed.
Last year I went on the Sunday but it only flew there on the Saturday as the cloud base where it was landed was only 1,200 feet and they needed 2,000 minimum to take off. Duxford was clear !

A restored Vulcan bomber aircraft which was set to fly at the RAF Waddington Air Display has been grounded because of a mix up over paperwork.

The plane was due to perform at the air show in Lincolnshire, but it had not been issued with a permit to fly at a public display.

The bomber had previously taken to the skies at a display in June.

A spokesman for the restoration team said fans would be understandably upset at not seeing the aircraft in flight.

TO QUOTE VICTOR MELDREW "I don't believe it"

got it's flying permit today and it will fly at Yeovilton this weekend and then will be at Fairford next weekend. Can't wait.
Checked the tents out last night, they are still all ok after last years downpour. Going down on Thursday and will finally get to see it fly again on Friday at rehearsals. Lets hope the weather is ok.

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 12 Jul 2009 05:39

This was in my local paper:

Hopes are high that an iconic cold war bomber will grace the skies at this month's Lowestoft Air Festival despite an anxious wait for paperwork before it can be cleared to fly.

The Avro Vulcan, which wowed crowds when it appeared in Lowestoft last summer after a 15-year restoration project, is currently grounded because its annual permit to fly has not yet been renewed.

The jet's owners and restorers, the Vulcan to the Sky Trust, are waiting for the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to rubber stamp the plane's permit, which has fallen behind schedule because of delayed inspections of the aircraft.

The Vulcan XH558, which saw action in the Falklands, is the only flying model in the world and was restored at a cost of £6m by the Vulcan to the Sky Trust.

It was forced to pull out of an airshow at RAF Waddington last weekend and although it is less than two weeks until the Lowestoft Seafront Air Festival on July 23 and 24, the show's organisers are still hopeful that the popular plane will be granted a licence in time to appear.

Paul Bayfield, managing director of the Lowestoft Seafront Air Festival, said: “We heard about the permit issue, but we haven't really heard any more. I'm assuming that no news is good news - I think it's just a bit of red tape which needs to be crossed, and then all will be well.

“We certainly hope it will come to Lowestoft again for this year's show.”

The programme for the Lowestoft Seafront Air Festival on July 23 and 24 includes the world-famous Red Arrows, a Spitfire, a Hawker Hunter, wing walkers and aerobatic displays.

It also means I might get an early flypast from the Red Arrows, for my birthday again! They usually come over the field at the end of the garden to drop into Norwich Airport before or after the Lowestoft show. This year the show is the two days before my birthday on the Saturday! Must make sure I have the camera ready.

We are off camping tomorrow down to Fairford in Gloucs for the Royal International Air Tattoo. Some of you may remember that we were all excited last year as it was going to be one of the first displays that the Vulcan was making since it had been restored. But unfortuneatly the show was cancelled due to the really bad weather.
Well this year that has been a whole lot better and the downpours that occured during the week prior to the show have not happened this time, so fingers crossed that the forecast they have given for the coming weekend is not too bad.

I can't wait, my stomach is churning with excitement.

See you all when we get back.

Had a brilliant time, had a few showers on the Thursday and Friday, Saturday was dry but windy and we all got a bit burnt, mainly due to the wind I think. Finally got to see the Vulcan flying at last, it was an amazing sight, got lots of lovely pictures of her flying and on the ground. Sunday we do the static display and it was a good job we did, as the heavens opened several times during the day and we were drenched. Altogether we had had a fantastic time. Have booked the campsite all ready for next years show.
