I will be. I'll be very interested in whatever he's got to say, though he will bang on about believing he was right at the time and so on.

More and more evidence shows that the war was actually illegal (so tell us something new!), and I don't believe we should just be hearing Blair, he was only Bush's puppet. It's Bush I want to hear...because without his marching into Iraq, Blair wouldn't have followed. I really believe Bush was looking for an excuse to finish what Daddy Bush didn't in Iraq.

Shame that won't be included in this inquiry

I joined that peaceful march against the invasion of Iraq all those years ago, where a million people protested. It made no difference, as we know, and no I don't want to see his face or listen to what he has to say. The viper! lol BCXX

I've followed most of it so far but am out tomorrow. I don't think anything will come of this enquiry, I dont think anyone will be held to "account" and we wont hear anything that we havent already heard....

suzian Report 28 Jan 2010 23:49

Looks like I'm in a minority of one.....

I seem to remember that this Govt and this Opposition (without the Lib Dems) actually backed this "war".

I don't remember much movement at the time for calling Tony Blair an oil slick etc

Hindsight's a wonderful thing

I also remember Blair at the Labour Party Conference turning the party around against rule 44. At that time he was heralded as the voice of New Labour.

How quickly we all forget - or perhaps we'd all like to go back to Maggie's "mine for me and bugger the rest of humanity" land? Or perhaps we could invade Argentina again? They must have had wmd!

Weapons of mass destruction and sexed up dossiers....HE LIED. The commons voted on the information they were given which has turned out to be utter rubbish.

The people of the falklands were invaded and that war imho was valid.

This isn't about Maggie anyhow it's about Blair.

Sorry, Muffy, but I have to disagree. Nothing personal, you understand - just a difference of opinion.

I get a bit sick of hearing about how the country was against the invasion of Iraq at the time - that isn't my recollection.

And, sorry again, but I have to disagree about the Maggie - v - Blair point. I for one lived through the Thatcher years. I really hope we never go back to those "mine for me and bugger anyone else" times.

Looking back, the young Blair was a breath of fresh air. Maybe he got carried away on the world stage, maybe he didn't get it all right, but I'd rather have one of him than a thousand of the other alternative.

Must off to look after my duck pond on my moat - after all, I'm just a common man
