Hello Susan,

Thank you for your comments. I have googled him in the past. The photo on the internet is not the same as the one I have in my possession, in fact he looks slightly different, but it may be that I have a photo of him which is when he is much older. The internet pic looks quite young. So hopefully the family will want the pic that I have. I am getting there slowly, thanks to all the wonderful people on GR.

Lorraine

Any more results?

My sister has been to that boot fair this morning and said there were loads of old photos being sold again today.

I never see such interesting items here, but I would want to track family as you have.

Keep up the good work.

Hello Gwyn and Carole, I have managed to find a relative in Canada, although he was descended from the first wife of George Skerry. I have e-mailed him a copy of the photo and given him all the info added to this thread.

Looking into George further we may have found a descendant who is actually registered on GR. However I have sent that person a message a few weeks ago, but not received a reply, so I am hoping they have not left GR and will reply sometime in the future.

Gwyn, I think I will have to get to the booty again and look for more pics. Unfortunately so many never have the info on the back of them, to get me started on the search.

I have been contacted by a lady in Adelaide Australia who may be descended from George Edward Skerry, so with any luck this photo will be winging it's way to Australia very soon. I will keep everyone posted on any progress made.

Many thanks Lorraine

Lorraine,

So strange that you should update this weekend.
Just half an hour ago I was asking my sister when boot fairs started in her area and telling her of your research to contact the family about the photo.

So good to hear that it may soon be going to an interested family member.

Hi I am Margaret from Australia, Emily Elizabeth Trevaille-Williams nee Skerry , George E Skerry's daughter married my grt grandfather's nephew , Sylvannus Trevaille-Williams . Found their marriage certificate yesterday , married in Cook County , Illinois , on 16th Dec 1910 , both have the wrong ages , he says he is 22 , in fact he was only 17 , she says she is 21 & she was 28 , yes , she was 11 years older than him .
Think Sylvannus must have died about 1917 as on the shipping records she puts she was a widow about that time .
Emily returns to live in England in 1917 , am now looking for Sylvannus's death , or maybe a divorce , any thoughts anyone .
Sylvannus had a brother , Thomas James Trevaille-Williams & a sister Hypatia Irene Trevaille- Williams , she worked for tha Canadian Red Cross for 40 years , died in her 80's in Tortonto .

Margaret,
I would click on Lucky Lainey's name to see if she has any more info about George Skerry.

Also Have you read all this thread from the beginging
as people have given lots of info about George Skerry in the research they did for Lainey.

Good Luck.
Sue
