Kama so ,keeping updated on the reunion I read your thread ,I wish I had been there , I too would have shed lots of tears.
Read Janeys post and had a look in the papers for a mention of 5th Viscount Monck found a will dont know if you have this or need this but The Morning Post Jan 23rd 1895 By his will dated 2nd November 1887 and 28th April 1891 Charles Stanley 4th Viscount Monck of Charieville Eniskerry County Wicklow GCMG Lord Lieutenant of Dublin ,MP for Portsmouth Governor General of Canada 1861 1868 who died 29th November last age 75 leaving personality valued at £40,391 0 9d as executors his son Captain Power Charles Stanley now 5th Viscount Monck and his son in law Mr. John McDonald Royce of Woodlands Kildare .The testator confirms the settlements made on the marriage his daughter Elizabeth wife of Mr. Royce and his daughetr Frances Mary wife of the Rev Richard Pearce. He bequeaths £500 to Lady Monck and the rest to his son.

[ Heh heh, Quoy. The 5th Viscount, he's all there. ;) Whether his younger brother fathered my gr-grfather and his sister just before getting killed at Alma in 1854, therein lies the question! Or at least my gr-grfather's fond tale. Various bits of the tale are in a long thread at the Monck TTF "surname board", for anyone who feels the karma move them. ;) ]

Polly,
It is wonderful stories like this that is true Family History research. Not a long line of distant names and dates, but real people with a shared heritage. So heart warming.
A happy future to you all.
Elisabeth xx

Lovely photo and write up, shame about the hearing aids lol
I do hope your Dad and his sister can spend lots of time together or just talking on the phone too. I am sure Cecil and also Margaret's late husband are watching all that goes on, who knows if somehow they guided you and Janey to success.

It IS a lovely photo. They do look alike too. You must have loads of photos of all of you. I suppose that the emails and phone calls have been flying thick and fast recently (unlike aircraft this last few days). Did you compare wedding photos etc. ?
With some clever digital alterations, someone might be able to put your Dad in Margaret's wedding photos and vice versa.
Thanks for keeping us up to date with your news,
Tess

I smile every time we get an update from you Polly.
In fact I grin ear to ear. You should be proud of yourself, with all your hard work and determination to find your Aunty.
Janey must be very pleased too. She must by now be an Honoury Cousin (sorry about the spelling).
With all our modern technology it is so easy for them to stay in touch and exchange information and they seem to be taking full advantage of it.
Thinking of you all, smilingly, Tess
