Let's hope everyone can travel safely soon.

I hadn't thought about the far-ranging implications of the airport closures in countries not affected by a local ban.
I was reading a report about flowers and veg. from Kenya not being able to be sent and that in turn will mean loss of wages to poor families who rely on agricultual work picking and harvesting etc.

I wonder how soon the shops here will increase prices because of scarcity of certain products.

One thing that has become obvious is just how much of our food is airlifted in. We were quite surprised.

Tourists from England who were due to fly back from NZ have a problem. If they leave now, with a stopover wherever, they could be stranded in wherever, which could affect their travel insurance. So their question is, do they chance it and head off in the direction of home or do they stay here until there is a definite 'all clear'. I did consider going to the airport to offer a bed for the night to 1 or 2 people, but if there is a chance that flights would be resumed quickly it might not be a good idea as I am about 45 mins drive from the airport.
