We have watched all Gareth's Chior programmes, and this one is as good as the rest.
Purposely, we did not watch the ladies on the Remberence service last night, as we wanted to watch the next two episodes in the series, to see how they reach their goal.
Incidently, we have been to the Pannier Market, where they sang last week. It was good to see that it still exists, and appears to be doing better than ever.
Also, the Drumhead Alter that is built, rather sends a shiver through me. I always think about all the battles through History, (incidently my favourite subject, and in which I achieved an 'A' level @ the age of 50), when this has happened. It is always my time to exit.
Anyway, will be watching The Choir programme as usual, tomorrow night.

The good thing is that if you miss the first showing on Monday evening, the prog is repeated on Tuesday at 11.20pm

Wow, they did well tonight, that was impressive, singing at Sandhurst. And now I can see how they managed such a large choir at the Albert Hall.

One thing, I wish they would give a time scale. We see it in three weeks but obviously they had longer to form the two choirs I would think.

I love the way it has built up their confidence.

Another wonderful achievement for Gareth. He puts everything into it.His ideas ,musicianship, encouragement and his nervousness before the performance all make him such a superb teacher.
He certainly is a national treasure.
As a musician myself I could watch him all night. What a boost for those women to cope with the months that their menfolk are away.
hope his idea of it happening in other areas takes off.

I couldn't watch last evenings but will record tonight's repeat and watch later. My o.h. doesn't enjoy programmes like this so prefer to watch in peace when he is in bed and can stop the recording if I miss a bit (when I doze off lol)

Ann, it was a large serving of icecream with strawberry and chocolate sauces on and a sparkler etc to dress it up. I had a poorly cooked dinner earlier in a different restaurant which I could only eat part of ( kleftiko done in greaseproof paper as they do in Corfu but when it came it was freezing cold inside, they had served me one which hadn't been in the oven long enough, took it back and heated it but of course the veg was undercooked etc so I only ate a little and they didn't charge me) We had eaten there before several times so very disappointing and didn't go back during the holiday. We then went to another bar/restaurant where we know the owners well and I indulged in the dessert due to eating fewer calories in the main meal earlier. Well that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it lol

I recorded the last programme and watched today.
What a boost to their confidence having the choir to help them through the men's absence.
A great performance at Sandhurst and a real eye-opener for many officers, I think.

Wives spend so much time being referred to as 'Wife of...' so it's good to see them taking the limelight and doing so well.

I watched the repeat programme and really enjoyed it. That young woman with the tattoes has a lovely voice, turns out she backed out of doing music at Edinburgh University because she met and fell in love with her husband. I hope sometime she can do more when her children are older, she really blossomed once she had done her solos. I think the other soloist was still in the choirand did sing at the end of another song.

Gareth really has some great ideas to get people together, he deserves some sort of award for his efforts. Long may the choir(s) continue and the idea spread.

Wow, didn't they do well? Both with the homecoming performance and the Albert Hall, and full marks to the soloist for performing even hough her mother was seriously hurt. And wasn't it nice to see their proud husbands? Oh and the children's choir. I should think that Gareth was exhausted.

Lovely words to the song. Thinking back to my days as a R Navy wife if it had been me I'd have been in tears too.

I remember going to the re-commissioning service on HMS Eagle which had a huge complement of men and the hymn was eternal father. To hear all those sailor's voices singing that brought the tears, especially knowing they were just going away for 6 months.

Really enjoyed this.

So brave in their own way, especially Sam the soloist.

Beuatiful song at the Rememberance Day Service at the Royal Albert Hall.

Hope we hear more of him and his choirs too.
