Julia, sorry to hear that your OH isn't having a very good day today. Hope that they will soon find out the cause of all his pain and treat it.

You also look after yourself and try and get some rest.

Hope tomorrow will be a better day.

Love, Sallie.x

Hope today is a better one for your o.h. and the docs can find a solution to the problem when they determine what it is.

You take care of yourself, very sensible to stay at home yesterday and rest a bit.

Hope to read better news later today

Morning Everyone - thank you all for thinking of us both. Was relieved to have a day at home yesterday, helped to calm me down abit.
The latest is that he has to have another scan, hopefully today, if not then tomorrow (Tuesday). No clues as to how long he will be in, or indeed what they are going to do.
Last evening when I phoned him, he was pretty uncomfortable.
But today's another day, and the full medical team will be on duty this morning, so perhaps things will move along a little faster.
It's the wanting to know that gets at you, that and the travelling. Admit I had a bit of a weepy thing last night, but pulled meself together. It's too early to buckle yet.
I'm going up there this afternoon, so will get fully updated.
Again, thanks to you all

Morning Julia
Hope today is a better one for your OH. And as for having a weepie - that is good - a doctor once told me to cry and not bottle all my feelings up.
You remember to take care of yourself too and hope you get some positive news this afternoon.
Take care
Love Mary xx

Julia love, having a weepy isn't buckling.
You're worried about your man and missing him no doubt AND it's Christmas - and it's bloomin' cold at the bus stop.
Let a few tears go, it will keep you strong for when you visit him.
I hope you get some positive news today, as you say - not knowing is the most unsettling. :-)

Julia Report 19 Dec 2011 17:30

Just got back and sorted myself out.
OH is comfortable, but still having Morphine injections. The consultant is trying to get him a vacant slot for a CT scan, and an x-ray using dye.
He thinks he will be home for Christmas, and though I live in hope, I am not holding my breath. We shall see.
He is by far, not in the same league as a young man they have in the High Dependancy Unit. It is a story I have been following on the local radio. He was in a Motorcycle accident in Bali, and funds were being raised in the county to pay for medical treatment, and a flight home. Just heard his father say that although the poor lad is not awake, he will make as good a Christmas for him on the unit as he can. Such a shame. It humbles me.
Will go to see the OH again tomorrow, and at least the rain, sleet and snow forcasted as I was getting ready today, held off, and we only had the rain.
The forecast has to be watched very closely here in Derbyshire at this time of the year, and the hospital is along way from home.

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts.

Many Thanks to you all, and here's hoping he gets the scan and e-xray soon.
Shirley I have had the hot cup of tea, and closed up all the doors.
I've just poured a glass of cold G & T, while my meal cooks ready for Emmerdale

Hope the scan happens soon and the right treatment doled out pdq so your hubby is home for Christmas Julia

How sad for that young man and his family but glad they got him back home at least. It's amazing how people go travelling with no insurance so they can't be returned to their loved ones when need to be. Hope he makes good progress now he is among loved ones, bless him and that both of you manage to have a good Christmas

Julia why not ask at the hospital if there's any transport service available. Some volunteers at hospitals use their own cars to help people in your type of situation

Not alot of change up to now, though he is in less pain, but still very uncomfortable. He has the CT scan tomorrow at 10.00, and started taking the Picolax last night. Two further doses to be taken today.
He says he is coming home after the scan, he is bored. Ha,ha, tell me about it, now he knows how I feel when I am in.
The official version is, no day has been mentioned for his coming home. So I do not know if it is the lonely Lamb Chop lurking at the bottom of the freezer, for dinner for one on Christmas Day, or if I will be defrosting the Fatted Calf.
I have not gone in today, as I had a long-made appointment at the hairdressers, and he wanted me to keep it. Then I walked out to the doctors, got my prescription and took it to the chemist, a job that the OH usually does for me.
Called in T***o on the way back home, another job OH would have done, and now having a much needed quiet afternoon at home, to re-charge my batteries.
I will visit tomorrow, when he will have had the scan.
