The main problem is - Who should vote?

Should only people living in Scotland vote? What about people who live South of the Border but work in Scotland?

What about the rest of the UK who could be affected financially ( taxes etc) and who should have a say in any break up of the UK?

I could go on and on but it would just go to show what a costly Mess this is.

I think we should keep the union. As I am mainly Welsh with a bit of English, Scottish & Irish blood in my veins I reckon I'm a good mix, (others might beg to differ) I think we are better together.

"No denying folk voted for them SRS....it's the amount of senior cabinet ones rather than rank and file MPs I was on about...and they are chosen for high office by the serving PM no one else.

And yes I agree re the women....though I don't think they're being actively blocked from being given the opportunity when you see the amount of women only short lists from all sides of the spectrum..which incidentally I disagree with..best person for the job should get it...with nothing else taken into consideration........but that's another debate...."

No arguments with you there Muffy!

Well as I live in Wales I have a view on this subject but I'm bound to upset someone :-D

We have devolved Governance obviously but there is NO way we could determine our own taxation levels and self support all the necessary infrastructure the level of earnings here is just not high enough.

If Scotland wishes to have full independence then I would like to see the balance sheet, if it's true that Scotland's health record is one of the poorest in Europe then how much of the UK's taxes are given to provide services?

In my humble opinion dividing the UK would cause even more 'racial' problems than we have now. So unless Scotland can physically divide itself from the rest of our small island and float offshore a few miles I cannot see how on earth it would be of benefit.

"There WERE an awful lot of Scots in the last government as I recall...disproportionate I thought at the time x"

Muffy, There's also a disproportionate amount of men in the government!

To be honest, someone must have voted for them!

From a selfish point of view I think Scotland should stay part of the UK. I identify more with them than the South to be honest!!

The Scottish Border is only 70 miles from Hadrians Wall up the A1.

In the Tyne Tees area, ITV local news covers Tyne Tees and Border and if you have Cable TV you can get Reporting Scotland at 6.30 in the evening.

As I have said, we have a long long way to go before this problem is resolved.

Kay????
