I had similar to one of the scams commented on in the responses on that link. My bank, (phoning at 9 at night?) asking me for security answers as there had been 'changes to my account'.... I replied that it was a very inconvenient time and that I would go into my bank the next day, not much they could reply to that lol.

JoyBoroAngel Report 23 May 2012 14:33

its suprising how dishonest some people can be
making money out of poor trusting people :-D

It is indeed Joy, I don't know how they live with themselves.

My elderly friend got taken, fortunately for a small amount as she realised and told her bank which put a block on any more going, and to their credit gave her back the money as they were already investigating that particular scam.

Another elderly friend is getting these calls so often she takes the phone off the hook each evening, I have warned her not to give out any details to anyone.

JoyBoroAngel Report 23 May 2012 14:44

i have to agree Jude passes the vaseline
but to be honest
i think most would be surprised to find
people they know who have scammed people
as somebody has to know these low life people

i would hate to find out it was one of my friends :-D
it would devestate me and i would be so disapointed in them :-(

like the introduction of Vaseline on here Jude - certainly is all purpopse and very handy for slippery customers!!!

I think the makers of Vaseline should pay us for all this free advertising!!

*$parkling $andie* Report 23 May 2012 15:48

Sorry to side track / butt in Jude,as I know this is a big time scam you're on about.

I assume you mean a scammer on GR.. Ann ..not on this thread. ?

Someone RR'd me on Allan's Vaseline thread, for no particular reason and you and Allan. I've never been RR'd before.

Do hope it's not someone we know ,that would be wicked ,if they haven't got the guts to PM me and tell me why, they are spineless and are no less than scammers.

Rant over !
Sandie.

Eldrick Report 23 May 2012 16:00

Yep, scams all over.

I saw this advert the other day for some guy wanting money and promising he could contact a dead relative! Seems for £16 a pop you can go to his show and listen to him talking to dead people about about the colour of their front door and their favourite cardigan!

Who would fall for that, tsk.

~`*`Jude`*`~

~`*`Jude`*`~ Report 23 May 2012 16:01

l was talking about big time scammers, lets leave it at that....nothing to do with being rr'd....there are plenty of threads up about that.
l got the info on my email this morning and was gobsmacked.

Ann pm me what you deleted please:)

I always use them - used one once and it gave me more than I asked for and never recorded it - mentioned it to a friend and before you could say "knife" there was a queue!! It got shut down pretty sharply :-D

Had I not gone in the bank to query it they would never have known
