We're on the "Do Not Call" list - so I know these callers are fake.

I talk to them in (what I can remember!) of a non-English language, or use broken English. That always works.

Or I say "hang on a minute" and put the phone on the desk and walk away. They don't usually hang on for long.

If OH answers, he says "Im busy right now, can I call you back?" - they always hang up.

try answering in broken English - I no understand what you say - speak up - if you answer every question like that they'll soon get fed up and you can have some fun at the same time - Chinese accent or Japanese would be extra good :-D :-D

I know this an old one, the Foreign sounding gentleman called Paul, or John, whatever they want to be known as that day,
Says he is phoning about Computer Wizard and that I am registered with them as I may have fault on the PC being used in my house...

Re: Banks...ask them to prove they are who they say they are, if they're real they panic, if not they hang up pdq :-D
I always go to my local branch to tell them, it gives them a chance to stop scams.

got an email yesterday, supposed to be from G**gle. Yeah right, G**gle have my email address, and they are going to give me loads of money because I g**gle a lot.

I wish :-D

i am just exspressing my dislike of scammers in any way
i get a company ring us saying theres a problem with out computer
i know its a scam as it said on this morning TV :-D

Jude, I've just read the link. We all think we won't get conned but some people do get caught off guard.

This is a serious issue.

Ann....l'm sorry but you are indicating someone who is not here and you know darn well that l and many others can guess who you are indicating!! Out of order, this thread is about scams, one l saw on my email, not anyone l or you know.

I wonderif/when the despoiler of all our fun over the past 48 hours turns up on the boards again, will they be expecting a "welcome back" - I donlt think so

We had so much innocent [and yes, very childish] fun on here - canlt remember when I laughed so much - my sides were aching - we could all do with a good laugh what with the present econmic climate and cutbacks on everything but someone obviously doesn't agree

we can only speculate on who the culprit is but one day we may wlll find out for sure - I do hope so

its not important jude i am used to it to be honest
somebody doesnt like some one who tells the truth :-D

but scammers are my pet hate
to me stealings stealing it doesnt need a fancy name
