Hello everyone

As it is sheeting it down out there, i thought would just sit here quietly for a while and write you all a letter.

So here goes....

Dear GR Peeps,

I would just like to say.........

Oh.......

Wait a minute: It's stopped hailing
Folks are singing, children wailing
Music's playing: gee that's better
GR peeps please kindly disregard this letter!

Its been sheeting it down here too in Medway area of Kent. I was getting a bit agitated at one time cos the patio outside the back door was getting flooded as the soak away wasn't coping with the rain. Harold the tortoise was still wandering around but getting flummoxed cos he couldn't walk where he wanted to. he gave up and went home to his box which thankfully is above the water line.

I was thinking this morning about all the little seaside shops that sell buckets and spades etc....and the ice cream man sat in his van on the seafront twiddling his little thumbs.

:-(

This weather is going to have such a disastrous effect on any buisiness that thrives on summer trade.

The welly boot and umbrella manufacturers must be rubbing their hands together.

Hi Julia

I have a pair of wellies that will last for the rest of my life.

Enough freebie umbrella's ....i don't think i will ever need to buy a new one.

I was going to replace my sunglasses this year, i wont bother now.

I always buy new flip flops for the summer....i won't bother now.

I have only bought one new summer jacket....no other summer clothes this year.

Was going to buy new garden sun beds this year...won't bother now.

Cushions for the patio chairs....i won't bother now.

Half the summer plants that i usually buy. No bbq charcoal or fire lighters. No wood for the chiminea.

I have not even seen or heard the ice cream van.

No gas bottle for the gas bbq or patio heater........

I could go on and on and on.

Forget the salads and bbq marinades...........i need hot stew and dumplings!!

Prickles,
You might get some fantastic summer bargains in end of season sales.
There's sure to be a surplus of unsold summer stock this year.

You could always recline on your new sunbeds to eat your stew and dumplings.
