well back from the pub and the thought police are back

terrible swear word
he jokingly advices me to keep an eye on my son whos name i will not post on a public forum especiallyas i am always having a go at him for putting too much on facebook.
if the word your thought it was is what i think then i remember back in the days of black and white telly and only 2 channels a ventriloquist and dummy (lord ??) used to call people a silly and the terrible word.
ps nowadays the only person likely to proposition me would be carrying a white stick and walking their labrador

I think I've almost given up the will to follow this thread .....RR'd post, disappearing posts ,peeps replying to posts that are no longer there.....not that I can see any way ! :-(
But someone may new may come up with an interesting opinion on the subject so I'll hang in to see for now.

Lord Charles?
Times change, Terry. There are words/terms that used to be acceptable in society that now aren't. Mainly because they're derogatory.

Rambling Report 10 Feb 2013 23:25

'Lord Charles' used to call his ventriloquist a "silly arse" I don't think that was the swear word used on here? If it was, and this offends I will remove it.

*$parkling $andie*

*$parkling $andie* Report 10 Feb 2013 23:25

In the terms of Ray Allens, Lord Charles , sketches I think ' Silly a...' referred to a silly person where as the term used in the RR'd post with the same word a... meant something quite different , I assume !
Someone with better English qualifications than me can explain it !!
If they saw it ...cos I didn't.

Come on GR uphold the OP or not as the case maybe !
Yeah the jury is out for the weekend !
I saw OP no reason not to reinstate it. !!!!

Sandie.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 10 Feb 2013 23:28
