Hi Emma - Sylvia has gone - she has put a sort of "goodbye" thread up - we tried to stop her to no avail

Ann's OP was there at midnight last night before I went to bed so who patrols the boards in the early hours.

Ann I looked at her thread and thats why I asked.
That is sad and disappointing, hate when that happens,
hope she has a wee break and returns soon.

Sylvia had had enough of being singled out all the time by another member and she just couldn't take his continual sniping any more

I'm sorry too, if Sylvia has gone. But I can understand why. Such a shame.

I know who should have gone, but no possibility of that happening soon, unfortunately.
They stopped writing miracles when the Bible was finished, alas.

It is sad Sylvia has gone, hopefully she will have a rethink and come back. I have never experienced cyber- bullying before, and like all forms of bulling it is just a cowardly act. I think GR really needs to look at the RR procedures. How many time can one person RR? Do GR keep a record of individuals repeating RRs? Why is the reporter not named, if not in open forum but to the OP in private. I am not sure I like it :-( :-( :-S

Muffyxx Report 11 Feb 2013 11:48

I'm going put my head on the block and say that I think the term bullying for this sort of thing is demeaning to people who are genuinely bullied...this is a message board spat really...annoying and grinding though it is.

I too hope Sylvia comes back..and i do feel it's a shame she felt she was no longer able to post on the boards ...hopefully she'll come back after a break refreshed and ready to resume battle !

Muffy bulling in any form is not acceptable in my opinion.

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 11 Feb 2013 11:58

I agree Paula..it's not.

Let's hope GR wise up to who is doing this and get a grip on the situation. x

Muffy I am just at a loss why this happens on a site where I assumed we were all adults. I have read some dreadful comments on some threads on GR that have been personal, harassing and extremely hurtful. As I have said before bulling in any form is not acceptable. Just because there is a relative degree of anonymity in cyber space. It seems some people feel they can use the internet to bully and harass, and tend to pick on individuals who do not agree with or oppose others comments or opinions. The psychological and emotional outcomes of cyber bullying are very similar to those of real-life bullying.
