John and Errol, can we put this all in the past now? Put it in a box, lock it and forget it. Let it rest.

A lot of upset and hurt has been caused and apologies made.

The only way to know on a thread how genuine apologises are is to see how future posts go.

Can we wait and see the outcome of the apologies please or we will, without doubt, end up with more unrest and more upset.

This is just my opinion but it is also a request.

Matthew and Jane Elwood who had my great great grandfather Francis Edward Elwood baptised in 1807 at Horsham Sussex. There is no sign of Matthew or Jane from this date and my great great grandfather was brought up as Francis Edward Elwood MITCHELL

When the little ones at school do something to hurt or upset someone we always make sure they understand why what they did wrong and that saying sorry is important, but more important is trying really hard not to do it again.

My daughter, when she was very young, always thought that the word "sorry" was an automatic get out of jail free card.
She was very young then and did not understand the intricacies of life and the damaging effect a comment can have on someone both personally and in the wider scheme of things
