I think they have fallen into the trap of the sensational story line which is a shame, it was lovely when it was gentle.

Celia I must admit is becoming a rather nasty woman.

A shame really because I liked her and now I feel she
will be the death of Alan now he has told her another
family secret.

In a recent interview on radio Anne Reid did say (when asked about playing Celia) that "she was not a very nice person" :-)

Kandj I thought the same when they talked about them buying the house. I think the storylines are getting a bit far fetched, all that rubbish about Caroline and her new partner and none of them seem able to keep secrets. I think Celia is becoming a real bossy boots, you can see where Caroline gets it from!

I feel quite sorry for Gillian, she's had a hard life and if her Dad has helped her in the past and then suddenly turned away from her a bit, it would be difficult to cope with no doubt.

Waiting to see where it goes next, what with Robbie and Caroline's ex dallying with Gillian, I am surprised she has the energy after working the farm and a shift at the supermarket or whereever it is she works.

Will watch the second episode but it's spiralling into a soap, The new series first episode was more about who's sleeping with who and when and secrets of the past coming out. Hate soaps so if it's the same as last week I won't bother again.

Feel Ann Reid and Derek Jacobi characters Alan and Celia are becoming also rans instead of the main story. Love their interaction but we're being bogged down with their families and their stories are coming to the top of the story line.

I want a gentle comedy about Alan and Celia not an angst driven story with the odd smile.

Sorry all, but I loved the first series and this episode might be just scene setting and we'll be back with the main story when I catch up on this weeks episode but I have a feeling.............. :-(
