Sharron Report 30 Nov 2013 10:27

Sorry to monopolize the boards with tales of Fred but nothing much else happens to me at the moment (aaaaw).

Anyway, tomorrow is the day he opens his grotto and starts his advent calendar with the chocolate in it.

Every year we give the carers a Christmas present each. Usually I either buy chocolate or bath sets, this year it is bath sets from Home Bargains. I can't buy them too early in the year, you don't even but long- life milk for a ninety- four year old!

Anyway, all the bath sets are wrapped and will be going into the big black Aldi bag for life so he can be Lord Bountiful for a while. This is on top of the chocolate I have to buy every week so he can treat his ladies. They don't come out of his pocket money either!

The advent calendar, well, I just saw it and thought it would be a little something different for him to do. Enrichment I think it iscalled. Well, it was when I saw it on that programme about Monkey World.

I wonder if I should start hiding his food so he behaves more as he would in the wild!

Oh dear, what a terrible thought, Fred in the wild!

I love to hear about Fred & his escapades... but I'm sad when I hear of his mishaps! How is his head?

I keep waiting for the book........ "My Life with Fred" by Sharron... it would be a best-seller!

The chapter about Fred in the Wild would be exciting :-D Can he do a Tarzan call?

Oh Sharron, please put all these threads together for a book to help all stroke victims and carers of such realise that life doesn't have to end just change somewhat and become more interesting and fulfilled.

Never ever apologise, you have kept Fred going, given his pal a chance to build his confidence and enriched our lives with your strength and humour.

Keep up the good work with whatever tools you need to help encourage Fred in his escapades.
