Tomorrow morning , I have been invited to go through an inner process of re-evaluation - so says a formal & totally unexpected letter I received on Friday. By the way, that's 'job evaluation' to you & me.

As I say, a very unexpected request from my erstwhile employer, mainly because I retired from their employ in 2004.

Should I bother getting off my posterior to attend just for the fun of it? I’d welcome some ideas as to my opening gambit should be while I relax stony-faced in some manager’s plush office for this awesome event. Thankfully, I don't know the gent.

Should I end up by submitting an invoice for my travelling expenses - about 15mins walk away, not forgetting stress & inconvenience? I might be offered a slap-up meal in the Staff Restaurant where I enjoyed many a good meal during the 34 years I worked there.

Get your thinking hats on please?
