Are spirits / ghosts etc for real or is it all in the mind?

Take a look at this and then ask yourself are visions of spirits real or just figments of your imagination.

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/5853835

Is the vision you see using the picture really there? of course not.
I have never heard of anyone who actually physically touched a spirit/ghost.
Some may claim they have, but I find it strange that these claims can never be proven.
The people that do make such claims when doubted, usually come up with... "Are you calling me a liar" or, "I don't care whether you believe me or not, I know what I saw"(as if saying this it makes it true).

Well in the above picture you just saw an apparition of the mind.
If, you want to believe it was real so beit. I`ll respect your belief, if you respect mine.

I`m sure some of us have had some strange and unexplained happenings occur in our lifetime (I know I have), please feel free to tell us all.

*Note...
The above is meant to be a conversation topic and not a means to poke fun at, or ridicule anyone`s beliefs.

Good photo Budgie :-)

My mum saw a ghost ( ?) of an old lady sitting on a chair beside the door in a house she went to view with a friend, many years ago, she assumed it was the seller's mother and said 'hello' as she went in, but on mentioning the old lady to the seller she found that there was no one else there...the odd thing is that the person she went with mum to see the house also saw the old woman.

I have seen quite a few spirits/ghosts Budgie Rustler,at times when I least expected it.What does your reverse photo image link prove?? Nothing, that's all it is...just a reverse photo image, like a negative. You can't possibly compare that to someone seeing an image of a spirit, and say that it's a trick of their mind,or their eyes playing tricks on them. The morning after my cat died I saw her sitting on her favourite spot outside my kitchen window,on the ledge. She was outlined in black, and coloured in in black, like Texta lines. As I looked at the shape,it dissolved into thin air, like black dye into water.(She was a ginger cat.)Did I imagine it? No,I didn't.Perhaps she was just saying goodbye,I don't know!!That's just one example. There are quite a few others. How can I prove them?? I can't!! You will always get believers, and non-believers who will scoff at the idea of anything like this happening. If you have had an experience of this kind, you will know that it's true.

Good afternoon, MargarettawasMargot re..

"What does your reverse photo image link prove?? Nothing, that's all it is...just a reverse photo image, like a negative".

Did you not see the projected image in the white square adjacent to the "negative"?
That's proof that some images can be "seen" when they are not actually there. :-)
Its not a "trick" of the mind. Its a natural occurrence. :-)

MargarettawasMargot

MargarettawasMargot Report 20 Jan 2014 12:38

Yes,Budgie Rustler,I saw the projected photo image. How can it be a natural occurrence when it's a trick of the eyes,or an optical illusion?
To see the projected photo image, you have to first look at the image on the left.As I said, that is totally different from just seeing something
when you least expect it,at random.

People will always believe what they want to believe,

I think that belief in something that cannot be proved such as spirits/ghosts is a human reaction possibly because some people could not bear to think that there is no after life once you die,

Dead is dead but if it make people feel better believing in life in some form after death then all well and good.

Roy, I strongly believe in like after death.........no idea why, but I do and that brings me huge comfort in knowing I will see my Mum and Dad again one day.

If when I die I simply cease to be, then so be it, it isn't the reason I believe in life after death though.

Death holds no fear for me, the process of dying used to, but having watched as people I have worked with and my loved ones have died, I am alright with it now.

Evening Cynthia, :-D :-D :-D
I could, possibly be a figment of your imagination, :-)
because I do some times wonder if I exist ... BUT, I think, therefore I am.

Evening Kitty, :-)
If nobody reads your words, then it is they that do not exist.

Now I`m baffling myself here.. :-D :-D :-D

My granddad died 6 weeks before I was born (6 weeks prematurely). Just after he died, mum was in the bath, and he 'appeared' - Mum told him to go away as he was embarrassing her. And he did.
I would put that down to a high emotive state.
However, my brother in law went into work one day, to be told by his secretary that an English gentleman (this was in South Africa) wanted to see him, he was in the adjoining office (had to pass through the secretary's office to get out of the building). Brother in law went to see the man - he wasn't there! He hadn't passed the secretary - just disappeared.
Brother in law asked the secretary to describe him - she did. The description sounded familiar, so he then showed her a picture of his dad without saying who he was. 'Yes, that was him'.

Except he'd died 3 years previously.......

My daughters, along with their stepbrothers have, apparently seen a ghost or two - when they lived in Stinsford - the village Thomas Hardy lived in. They regularly saw people in old-fashioned garb, especially by the church - and there wasn't a Hardy re-enactment going on.

Mind you, both my daughters, before staying in Stinsford (unbeknownst to each other) had invisible friends - and they were both called Patrick - AND they could both give me details of their 'friends' 'previous' lives - both were different - so not so much invisible friends - more ghost friends.

Me? Not seen a dicky bird of a 'ghost' - so they didn't 'get' anything from me :-D

Cynthia...love it,you gave me a great giggle,thank you!! :-D :-D :-D :-

Shane/Budgie :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Kitty..I agree with you. I've always been open to the idea of ghosts, life after death, etc, and none of my experiences have caused me to change that.

Maggie...that's very interesting,and quite unexplainable!!

MargarettawasMargot Report 21 Jan 2014 07:27

Sorry,Porkie Pie,I forgot to say that I agree with you ,too.But...I do believe that being open to the idea of life after death has had no bearing on my experiences, they have just happened.People are free to believe what they want. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
