What a daft set up! Presumably if you took the pushchair to the Police Station they would accept it and log it as found property.

Have you thought of advertising on Gumtree in the Lost and Found column? It's free but don't mention it's outside Tescos as someone else might check it out so they can describe it and then go back and take it as theirs! Mind you, better used than left out in the rain day in and day out to spoil.

I bet is someone who has rushed back to the car with the baby in the shopping trolly and forgot they had the pushchair with them and not bothered going back as they may not expect to find the pushchair there. :-D

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 24 Jan 2014 15:26

It really sounds as if its been pinched and dumped . Tesco are being very obtuse in not allowing it to be collected by the police and put into their lost property. After all if it was pinched the owners wont know where it is .

OH had to get bus back to find it had gone , never saw it again' didn't worry us too much as son was walking well and ready to come out of it and had been used for older son. Bet someone somewhere is asking "Where's the Pram" hope you find the owner :-D

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 23 Jan 2014 19:35

who knows? I have sent the "story" to our local newspaper, so hopefully if they print it the owner of the pushchair will see it and reclaim it

So, if it's been abandoned, how long will Tesco's keep up the charade?

OneFootInTheGrave

What did you expect - the Health and Safety Brigade have to justify their existence :-D :-D :-D

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 23 Jan 2014 15:30

this gets stupider by the minute - police just rang back - seems they are not allowed to collect and keep the pushchair and Tesco's can't keep it in store for Health and Safety reasons - Tesco will leave it outside during opening hours and take it in the store when it closes

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 23 Jan 2014 13:50

when I rang the police yesterday morning I was told "Tesco have their procedures for dealing with things like this" Well I've just been down to Tesco and their way of dealing with it was to put it back outside again!!! So I have again rung the police and they are sending one of our community police officers round there to collect it

I have one living in my garage, got it for a tenner off a friend and thought it too good an offer to miss. It's like new. I was going to offer it to o.h.'s son and d.i.l. when they were expecting granddaughter now 3, but they had a buggy bought by another grandma so I didn't say anything. It's much nicer than a buggy, the child faces the parent and is higher off the ground so a little further away from some exhaust fumes altho with all these big vehicles around now they would need to be on stilts to miss most of the fumes and muck belched out. There seems to be more protection from wind and weather too expecially with parent blocking wind and rain a bit more than pushing the poor little mites into all weathers. It folds up well for going in the boot of a car so I am hanging on to it for now, just in case, you understand lol

There are several folk around here that use pushchairs instead of a shopping trolley, we also have some that collect scrap on them.

There are some strange people about Ann, might it be an idea to let your local police know, in case one is reported missing or something? You would think these days people would value things more but they seem to have lost the habit and continue to be wasteful in this throwaway society.

If no one wanted it a charity shop would have been glad of it to sell on.
