Lucky escape..Tad windy yesterday teatime.

Wind started to pick up about3pm....... Thought nothing of it....Later,.. Talking to son on Skype who is in USA just after 5pm. heard this loud noise/Thud/howl type of thing. .. Son asked what had happened ( he could hear it over in Tx.) |

Thank you Florence...... I must say We were rather shaken.... Looking at the damaged tree in daylight certainly concentrates the mind. The rings in the trunk look to be well over 100 so a mature specimen. |

Oh Margaret, that must have been scary! So glad the tree didn't hit your home. What a shame when a lovely old tree goes, you will miss it's presence. |
