Scozz I had that problem.

It took me 2 days to find Compatibility View on this laptop because the toolbar didn't appear at the top.

If your toolbar does not appear..........click on "alt" and up pops the toolbar.

As Budgie advised me........you then need to click on "View" and then made sure the Command bar and the Menu bar are both ticked in order for the toolbar to remain on your screen.

You will then find your "Compatibility View" setting when you click on "Tools"

I hope this helps!

Thank you Mersey......just off the investigate the links you posted.

Fingers crossed!

Boo hooo.

I have already checked out those links.......did exactly what was advised and still I am elongated.

Just as a matter of interest GB and Pottie..........is it just Ancestry you are having problems with?

If I post anything from FMP it's fine. So it seems that the problem only occurs when I post anything from Ancestry.

:-S :-S

Don't have FMP, PH, but I do have the same problem from familysearch. I am getting quite good at the editing - plenty of practice!

If you use Word then copy the tabular data from Ancestry and paste into a Word file.

Select the table in Word and click on Table Tools
Then click on Layout
Then click on Convert Text to Table and select tabs.

The result can then be copied and pasted into the GR Reply Box..

EDIT that is using Word 2007.

Thanks Prickles........ but I have my toolbars.

It's the compatability button that's run off.

I have the Refresh button (the two green arrows) and the Stop button (the red cross).... the compatability button used to sit next to them (looked like a torn piece of paper).

Where did it go?

Maybe it wasn't compatable with the Refresh & Stop buttons :-S

My Refresh and Stop..........appears in "View"

But my Compatibility View setting appears in "Tools"

LadyScozz Report 17 Feb 2014 23:41

yup, I went to Tools, clicked all the right things, and still don't have the compatability button.

I didn't do anything to make it go away, it just ran off.

Who can't find knicker elastic? I know it's hard to find........ try a specialist fabric shop, ask for swimwear elastic...... if you put your undies in the tumble dryer, the elastic lasts longer. :-)

The compatability button only appears in the address bar when IE detects a compatability issue with the website your using,

Switch between several sites and you will notice it appears in some and disapears for others

I don't have the compatability button at all, no matter which website I'm looking at.
