That reminds me of when my girls were young and they would walk with my dad when we were on holiday, he had back problems which meant he walked quite slowly and they would walk either side of him chattering away. |

I have lovely memories of my maternal grandad. He took me to Saltwell park on Saturday mornings, came to do the garden for my parents on Sunday mornings, and taught me to read from newspapers, so I could read by the time I went to school. I was devastated when he died from cancer, aged 53. He was a Dunkirk veteran, and my hero. RIP, Ernie Barr <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 |
