OMG how many times did we talk on here late into the night .. where you there when I cleaned the GR offices at 2am?
It was a few years ago when I could stay up for hours! ;-)

I am just about to renew again, 9 yrs since I joined and found out how to communicate with people all over the world through these boards. Have made some lovely pals and met several of them, lost some too although they are always in my thoughts and heart.
Hope I can manage a few more years yet!

Ive been here since 2005,post now and then,try to keep away from controversial threads.
There are a lot of folk on here that are really nice people ,will help,laugh with you,listen to moans ,advise etc,....but some try to spoil things by taking everything out of context .
My advice is to ignore.We all meet people in life that we don't agree with..wouldn't do for all to have the same ideas,but it's a fact of life and lets just get on without getting upset.

Quite a few of the well known long standing members moved to pastures new, ie other genealogy forum/s, and can be found still offering their valuable knowledge there.
Moves were mainly due to the fact that these boards were not moderated and at times things got way out of hand. Certainly it seems things have settled down lately :-)

I think people got disheartened a while back by the constant RRing of posts for petty (it seemed) reasons and several didn't renew. Also there is a quite large contingent who used to be very active on here who chose to go on facebook instead of renewing.

I look in every so often, but since the dreaded 'Shingles' attacked me in November I cannot seem to get enthusiastic about anything.

Hello Newby, how are you?

Joy and Stray are still around they are visiting down in South Wales at the moment. Hayley is just back from her Hols, HRH pops on and off. R Rose is having a break but will be back. Not sure if Muffy is a member or not at the moment, she is on facebook though and is OK.

It is really good to see you and I thought you had been a member for longer than 5 years. :-) :-)
