Sharron

Sharron Report 21 Feb 2014 03:38

He didn't come home yesterday afternoon after all.

We went to the village lunch and had his lunch ready in containers to give to him upon his arrival. Coming out of the hall there was a message on the mobile to ring the hospital.

They were not sending him home because he had had a coughing fit, a really bad one.

He has a coughing fit daily, as do I, it is our only talent and he usually turns purple. In fact, I had to call the doctor in to give him some ointment for up his nose because it bled every time he coughed.

Anyway, he had lost his swallow and they had called in the speech therapy department who were very concerned because it was so serious and would not allow him home.

I went to the benefit office and did some shopping. Thought I ha better ring again to see how he was.

He had demolished his tea and a pudding and was then demanding a cup of tea.

Soon got it back when he was hungry!

He will be home this morning unless he can think up another one!

Hope things work out ok Sharron, and glad Fred was able to swallow his tea and pudding. I am sure that set the nurses' minds at rest lol

At least you got one more sleep altho you were up and about early or late, sorry I missed you at the time.

Sorry Fred had to stay in another day but it's good they decided to keep an eye on him rather than send him home. He's in the best place and you've had a few more hours to recharge the batteries before resuming administrative duties.

Best wishes to you and to Fred.

PS If Fred doesn't keep you busy enough and you're looking for more management tasks, I can offer you my OH. He's physically and sort of mentally able but boy, does he need organising. I think you'd be perfect for the job!

He came in tired and confused. Not surprisingly after a wait of four hours for the ambulance.

He suddenly realized it was me by the bed and drank his tea, the first decent one for a week.

Adamantly refused a whisky from me. The carers came in to make sure he was in bed in the appropriate manner and moved him up the bed to his usual position. This must have been when he realized he was home and began to call for the monkey. We only had whisky so we gave him that. Didn't touch the sides!

He has bellowed tonight, demanding something off the bookshelf ( he doesn't have one).

He's back alright!
