AndysMum, you personally have not upset me but I have been targetted about this before and it is a bit dispiriting when you try and keep something going. By the way yes it was Mersey who said it and she belongs to Greaders :-) I think the problem lies with all the locked threads on the Genes book club, theya re often left up there too long. However, I have a suspicion that the book club was the reason that the board was started and they are in charge!!!

My view remains that, if people don't want to see threads about reading because they are not interested in books, no problem, if they add the interests that they are interested in I will read them happily.

I get upset when someone says "Sorry if I upset You"
I get upset when my posts are ignored.
I get upset when I am off topic on a thread.
I get upset when I am on topic and the Opening Poster is too dense to realise I am on topic.
I get upset when someone says I am goading them.
I get upset when I think someone is goading me.

But on Jeremy Bentham's felicific calculus, Genes chat is quite high for me. Thank you, all you lovely felicific ones.

I drove the 8 miles down to Sainsbury's the sun shone down from a lovely blue sky, so I did not worry about taking a coat in with me, or changing out of my driving sandals.

Having eaten a tasty bowl of soup I took my time wandering round looking at the items on offer this week ( large beef joints were a third off :-D ).

Struggling with a large trolley, piled high with bags, I stepped out into the car park, it was raining slightly but not enough that I was tempted to hide over a cup of coffee whilst it lessoned. Head down I made my way across to bay C, when I was midway between the shop & my car the sky opened, sleet & hailstones shot down soaking me through to the skin. :-( I must have looked a sorry sight to those who had retreated to people watch over a hot cup of coffee.

I am now home, warm from a bath, hair washed & dried, cupboards, fridges & freezers now well stocked. :-D

You obviously had a warm glow from your bowl of soup.

I haven´t read the other comments but I will say that some of the funny and interesting threads drop off the boards because ?! nor would I want to

I do occasionally try to put amusing things up ..see it could only happen to me.. but I can´t make people answer nor would I want to.

I agree with you Andysmum, I find it very offputting too! You look at the first page that is 'dominated' as you say and think that is what the rest will be on other pages as well. There should be a seperate 'book board' if that is how they want to do things. How would it be if all the other threads on there did the same.....eg all look at some art and have different threads for commenting on each painting each month! It would end up a right muddle and be hard to find things.

John, you must be really upset then!! Perhaps you should go back on the cocoa!! :-)
