I use Windows XP and got the up-date on Friday-son has Vista and he got it as well

The Windows Vista update should have patched - check your update history.

Thanks Errol, I finally managed to work out how to do that and it does say it has updated IE.

No problem.

You should be able to check your updates and find out exactly what has been done - if there is a KB123456 reference (Knowledge Base with a load of numbers after it) it is quite easy to check it out online and find out precisely what has been patched/updated.
