I have just received an e-mail from a market research company saying they are acting on behalf of GR; it reads as follows, |

Ifi it is genuine MR it will give you the name of the company commissioned to carry out the research which does sound like a bona fide group discussion to me. |

Thank you; I have found the link and sent the e-mail to the Community Manager. There was a company name associated with the e-mail which I omitted to include on my original post - here it is. |

It is common practice to have market research companies use existing customers and not in contravention of any data protection laws any more than the accounts department knowing your name because they never own the information. The market research company is effectively acting as an auxiliary department of the company. |

I'm surprised they are giving actual cash. I presume you will have to sign for it In some way as they will want to use these payments as expenses against tax. |

Having worked for MR companies in the past it is feasible for cash to be offered ..this offsets the cost of travel etc ...Yes you sign but only to say that you have attended and received. |
